Kardinal Hall

Beer, Bocce, Food & Fun. That kind of says it all at this modern take on a beer hall and garden. Located in a repurposed and renovated former Coca-Cola warehouse and bottling plant, Kardinal Hall features two crushed oyster shell bocce courts and an enormous outdoor patio with a bar and grill, where you and your pooch are always welcome. Choose from any of the 24 beers, 2 wines (and more are available by the glass), 1 hard cider, and 1 kombucha they have on tap, or opt for one of their cocktails; we like Wheat in the Knees, with gin, lemon, and honey syrup, topped off with Weihenstephaner. There’s also a great food menu, with inspiration coming from all directions: from Dachshund Double Dogs topped with goulash-style chili to Poutine to BBQ Smoked Butternut Squash. Oh, and Belgian Fries which you can have with your choice of 14 different dipping sauces. Open daily at 11 a.m., close whenever.

City of Alexandria

Old Town, Alexandria, VA is very pet-friendly. Most of the retail stores allow pets (I'm not quite sure about the restaurants though) and the stores will have water dishes inside for the doggies. Of course, not all of the store allow pets - some of the antique stores don't, for example. If they don't allow pets, most of the shops have signs posted, but I was very surprised on how many stores and shops allowed dogs.
