Beacon - Pet-Friendly Places

Bank Square has one of the nicest outdoor spaces in Beacon, situated so you can look out over the Hudson River in the distance. Your pup is welcome to accompany you on the patio, where you can relax and enjoy a wide choice of coffees, teas, indie craft beers on tap, and baked goods from Bread Alone.

A wonderful place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and you and your pup are welcome at one of their sidewalk tables. They offer nine different kinds of burgers (one of our favorites is the Bacon, Apple, and Brie Burger brushed with a balsamic glaze), a host of salads and sandwiches, as well as heartier entrees like Beer-Braised Beef and Chicken and Chorizo Pasta. And don't forget to order one of their Basket of's: Fries, Eggplant Fries, Sweet Potato Fries, or Onion Rings.

Oh my goodness, we do love the sandwiches here: Humboldt Fog goat cheese and fig spread, prosciutto with shaved parmesan, arugula, and balsamic glaze, a wicked Croque Monsieur. And breakfast is wonderful as well: Egg Bake Du Jour, Shaksuka, and what they call a Turkish Breakfast--hardboiled egg, feta, olives, baguette, butter, and jam in a beautiful presentation. An invitation to take a breath and relax. And you can enjoy it all with your pooch in tow on the patio.

You and your pooch are welcome to enjoy their menu out on the patio. Fantastic choices for both lunch and dinner. We often don't get beyond appetizers, which include a wonderful smoked trout plate and burrata & prosciutto. We also need to note that their pastas are not your regular offerings: Fettuccine and Short Ribs, Garganelli Duck Ragu, Spaghetti Chitarra with Shrimp.

Our favorite bar and restaurant in Beacon. Fantastic atmosphere, tons of beer selections (16 taps!), good food, great bar tenders, and they have live music on weekends and some Thursdays. Get an IPA. Then try the Deviled Eggs for starters. Move onto either Ma's Chicken Pot Pie which is awesome or their Classic BLT (really really good). If you must be healthy, the Harvest Salad with chicken add-on is great, too. And, of course, you can hang out with your pooch at the bar. There is nothing not to like at Dogwood. Nothing.

A great place to come if you love making dinner out of appetizers. Some favorites are Braised Lamb Sliders, Brûlée Figs topped with Lemon Ricotta Mousse and a sprinkle of crisp prosciutto shreds, Corn and Parmesan Fritters, and the local charcuterie plate. More substantial choices are available as well, like Smoked Crispy Duck Breast with Wild Mushroom Risotto. Enjoy it all with your pup in their outdoor seating area.
