Orleans - Pet-Friendly Beaches

Pets are not permitted from March 15 through September 15 north of the Nauset Beach parking lot. From a point south of Nauset Beach parking lot to Trail 1, pets are prohibited from May 15 to Labor Day. From a point south of Trail 1 to the Chatham lnlet, from May 15 through Labor Day, pets must be on a leash of not more than 30 feet at all times, unless below the high tide mark. This is a zero tolerance enforcement issue. Pets are prohibited from areas closed to vehicle or human traffic for Piping Plover Protection.

Pets are not permitted on town beaches from the Friday of Memorial Day weekend to Columbus Day. The rest of the year, pet on leash or under voice control are permitted on the beach. These beaches include: Skaket Beach, South Orleans Beach, Pilgrim Lake, Crystal Lake, and Bakers Pond.
