Brooklyn Bridge self-guided walk, beginning at Park Row Street, directly across from City Hall Park. You and your dog can take a stroll along this elevated wooden walkway while enjoying the skyline of New York City. The Brooklyn Bridge (designed by architect John Roebling between 1867 and 1883) is the world's first steel suspension bridge. It was constructed to link Brooklyn and Manhattan. This walk takes about 20-40 minutes each way (depending upon your pace) and there are benches all along the way.

Horse drawn carriage rides in Central Park allow dogs to go for a ride with their owners. I was able to verify this with the concierge at the SoHo Grand Hotel in New York City a very posh hotel where I stayed with my Doberman Porsche.
Horse and carriages are located at the south end of Central Park at 59th Street and Fifth Avenue all the way up to 6th Avenue. You and your dog are welcome to take a tour of Central Park and New York City. The carriage driver will provide a blanket if it is cold outside. Carriages are available seven days a week after 10 a.m., weather permitting. Rates are $34 per half hour and up.
At the corner of 23rd Street and Fifth Avenue, right in front of the Flatiron Building is Madison Square Park. On the Fifth Avenue side of the park they have a fenced off dog area. Great place to meet dog owners and their dogs.
Seastreak Ferry Rides allow dogs on all their commuter ferries. Ferries depart from Pier 11 (Wall Street) and East 34th Street in Manhattan and Atlantic Highlands and Highlands in New Jersey. Dogs of all sizes must be on a short leash and must ride outside irregardless of the weather -- the only exception being if the dog is very small and is in a carrier. The ferries operate daily between Manhattan and New Jersey and take about 45 minutes each way. Roundtrip is $20 for adults, kids half price and dogs free.
