Shake Shack

There was no way we couldn’t include Shake Shack. First, the food is great and it’s fun to people watch from the pet-friendly tables outside. Second, it has a its own doggie menu offering your choice of a Pooch-ini (a cup of vanilla custard served with two dog biscuits and peanut butter sauce) or a Bag o’ Bones, five dog bones made from all natural ingredients from Bocce’s Bakery in New York City. Beer and wine are also sold. Open Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday until 11 p.m.

This grassy off-leash park is located near the divinity school campus in a largely residential area. There is seating for owners and poop bags are provided free of charge. There is a strict no barking rule, so if your pup is loudly exuberant, this isn’t the dog park for him. Open sunrise to sunset.

Our favorite pet-friendly place for breakfast and lunch. Though smack in the center of the city, it has a quiet shaded outdoor seating area. Zoi’s offers specialty breakfast sandwiches like the Alexander the Great (western omelette with cheddar and bacon served on a roll) and the Sweet Pete (bacon, egg, cheese, and caramelized onion on pumpernickel toast). For lunch, there are lots of sandwiches and salads to choose from, including California Cobb Salad and House Roasted Beef Sandwich with Horseradish Sauce. Open Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and closed on Sunday.
