The Little Stone House

506 Whitfield Street,
Guilford, CT 06437
This great outdoor cafe next to its namesake, the more formal "Stone House", is a great place to come with your dog. It is right across the street from the marina, and on Sundays and Thursday evenings they have local, live acoustic music. Our first trip there the chef came outside, himself, to bring us chicken breast for our dog, Coney. On our next trip there they had a resident water bowl and the local musician gave Coney lots of attention throughout his set! Additionally, there are doggie waste bags available at the mini-park located just feet away on the water's edge. And the food is great too. Their website is http://stonehouserestaurant.com

The Place Restaurant

901 Boston Post Road,
Guilford, CT 6437
The Place Restaurant is a truly unusual restaurant where visitors dine outdoors while a crackling wood fire roasts savory clams, smoky lobsters, sweet corn and much more. Instead of chairs, tree stumps encircle bright red tables, decorated with a bottle of freshly cut flowers. Dogs are welcome!

Westwoods Trails

Guilford, CT
The WestWoods trail system is the largest recreational area for hiking in Guilford. Westwoods contains 39 miles of trails on 1,200 acres. Bicycles are permitted as well as horses, and of course, dogs. The longest trail is only about three miles, so it's easily do-able, and you can try several different trails during a day. Trail maps are posted at entrances but you can pick up one at the Guilford Town Hall.
